
WardlaLAartridge Middle School students Sarah Alves '24 and Julia Machado '25 performed beautifully at Edison Township's 29th Annual State of the Township Address at the Pines Manor on Feb. 25.
Sarah and Julia sang the Star-Spangled Bannerat the start of the program and concluded the event with an outstanding rendition of America the Beautiful. The students were accompanied by their parents and Rudy Brandl '83, Director of Communications and Publications.
Edison Township Mayor Tom Lankey '78, a LA alumnus, made the keynote speech that focused on "collaboration, cooperation and compromise" with emphasis on working together to achieve the many common goals for the township. Mayor Lankey joined Sarah and Julia for a photo after they all received loud ovations from more than 200 guests in attendance.
