A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR OF AUXILIARY PROGRAMS |
|
|
| Chris Flores, Director of Auxiliary Programs, shares his debut blog, The Out of School Times, covering topics in after school and summer camp activities. Below is an excerpt:
With the need for after school programming on the rise, many families choose to sign their children up for various types of activities to help keep them engaged once the school day is over. Whether the activity is at school or outside of school, families are always looking for opportunities to give their children an enriching experience. A great after school program should engage children in a meaningful way and help them continue to develop their creativity, social skills, problem solving skills, and much more. After school programming tends to be a little more casual than the regular school day, which gives children a bit more freedom to discover what they like, but still in a structured environment.

| 2nd graders share heritage presentations |
The second grade classes began their celebration of heritage and culture by hosting a Lower School assembly on Friday, Dec. 1. After making a presentation for their peers in Grades 1-5 in the Berry Performing Arts Center, the second graders welcomed visitors to their classrooms so they could teach them more about the many heritages represented.
Dressed in attire reflecting their heritage, students represented India, Nigeria, Poland, China, Senegal, Israel, Trinidad, Ireland, Romania, Puerto Rico, Barbados, Italy, Ghana and Iran. They showed an entertaining trailer video that served as a preview for the more detailed presentations in the classrooms.
The students will host parents for a larger group presentation in Lower Snowdon on Friday, Dec. 8. SECOND GRADE HERITAGE PHOTO GALLERY |
