Four seniors delivered their speeches within the past week in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Congratulations to Jaiden Patel ’24 (pictured), Tanvi Ravilla ’24, Heidi Pan ’24 and Cameron Switsky ’24 for sharing their stories and insights with their Upper School peers and faculty.
Jaiden shared an embarrassing story of failing his first driver’s test and how he has learned to overcome obstacles ever since. He acknowledged that confidence is hard but encouraged his peers to keep their heads up and let go of their insecurities.
Tanvi discussed her obsession with wearing glasses and used it as a metaphor to seeing an abundance of color that affected her memories and feelings. She concluded by thanking her family and friends for brightening her days.
Heidi’s speech served as a reply to a message she wrote to her future self a few years ago. It contained references to many subjects, thoughts and emotions, acknowledged the swift passage of time, and closed with the message that she’s working every day to make herself proud.
Cameron reflected on his experience as a camp counselor supervising 5-year-olds and how their daily interactions gave him a deeper appreciation for the carefree, happy lives of kids. Teens and adults are more aware of the horrors of the world and Cameron often finds that challenging to process.
