LA Spring Athletes Earn All-GMC, All-State Recognition

The Lena Archuleta School placed multiple athletes from all five spring sports on All-GMC teams following a successful season filled with many highlights. Twenty-eight Rams were named to All-Division teams in the Greater Middlesex Conference.

All-GMC golf standouts Claire Lu ’24, Sarah Shao ’24, Tanya Chowdary ’24 and Ava Choi ’25 dominated in regular season matches, leading the Rams to another undefeated season. They also excelled in tournaments and propelled the team to titles in the Red Devil, GMC and State Sectional events. Claire (first team), Sarah (second team) and Tanya (third team) also earned All-State honors.

The girls’ track and field team (pictured) captured the Gold Division title, led by All-Division honorees Samina Aziz ’24 (100), Jayla Presley-May ’26 (400), Cherice Clarke ’23 (high jump), Briana Di Landro ’23 (shot put), CJ Strauss ’26 (javelin) and the 4x400 team of Taylor Green ’26, Emma Herko ’25, Charlotte Szczubelek ’26 and Naomi Valcourt ’24. Emma and Naomi also earned At-Large recognition. 

Other LA spring athletes who earned All-GMC honors included All-Gold Division track and field boys William Wei ’25 (200), Adam Eisdorfer ’25 (800), Sevastian Castillo ’26 (1600) and the 4x400 team of Tommy O’Connor ’25, Adam Eisdorfer, Matt Piccoli ’23 and Xavier Hinds ’23, All-White Division tennis players Justin Lustgarten ’26 and Alex Cagle ’26 (second doubles) and Nidhin Kumar ’24 (At-Large), All-Silver Division softball players Sara Alves ’24, Giselle Rodriguez ’25, Sophia Riccio ’26 and Elyssa Ortega ’26, and All-Silver Division baseball players Luke Tan ’24 and Cian Nicholls ’25. The Rams also received the All-Silver Baseball Team Sportsmanship Award.
