The LA community gathered for an evening of fine food, crafts and wonderful entertainment at International Family Fun Night on Feb. 3 in the AP Room. Students and parents from all three divisions participated in cultural dances, many dressed in festive attire representing cultures from around the world. The Desi Moms again capped the evening with a fantastic performance in the finale. Other event highlights included henna art, Brazilian crafts and Origami for all to participate and enjoy.
Dances representing many cultures entertained the audience throughout the evening. Upper School affinity groups including the Desi Club and the Black Student Alliance performed routines to celebrate the cultures they represent. Jack Silver ’23 (vocals) and Charlie Silver ’23 (electric guitar) rocked the house with two original tunes. Other highlights included a sixth-grade dance choreographed by Arika Shah ’29, a Lower School Latin dance, and a conga line that moved along the perimeter of the AP Room.
Thanks to event chairperson Shakti Jha, Kerry O’Neill, Kevin Kornecki and Vandana Puri for organizing an amazing evening of entertainment and activities and senior class dean Justine Borzumato for coordinating the food. Members of the Class of 2023 served the delicious buffet of international delights. Proceeds from the event will support funding of the school’s prom in the spring.
