The Desi Club, an active Upper School affinity club, ran the school’s first garba and celebrated the Diwali holiday in grand style on October 21 in Laidlaw Gym. Students, parents, faculty, alumni and their families enjoyed a festive evening of music, dance and food.
Guests were dressed to impress in cultural attire to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. Filled with feasts, lights, and dance, Diwali celebrates the triumph of good over evil and inner light over spiritual darkness.
The event was so successful that it sold out after reaching full capacity. Desi Club leaders Naischa Puri ’23, Loveleen Sindhar ’23 and Raiya Patel ’24 promoted the inaugural event throughout the LA community and are excited that it was such a big success.
