WardlaLAartridge kicked off its observance of Hispanic Heritage Month with a series of activities and presentations last week in the Berry Performing Arts Center.
The Upper School’s Hispanic Latinx Alliance (HLA) group shared a presentation hosted by Brianna DiLandro ’23 and Nate Bravo ’23, who provided facts about the month-long celebration. They introduced Giselle Rodriguez ’25 paid tribute to Lin Manuel Miranda, an artist, playwright and filmmaker best known for the Broadway smash hit Hamilton and the soundtrack of Disney’s Encanto.
The Middle School dedicated part of its opening divisional Community Meeting to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Meeting host Cameron Williams ’27 shared information about the meanings of Hispanic and Latinx and explained the distinction: Hispanic refers to the language of Spanish, while Latinx refers to the geography of Latin America.
