Mike Romeo, Athletic Director, announced the Upper School Athletes of the Week at Monday’s division meeting. Congratulations to cross country runner Charlotte Szczubelek ’26, soccer player Al-Hammed Bell ’25, volleyball player Zara Zaidi ’24 and tennis player Annie Yu ’25.
Charlotte added another important achievement to her running career last Wednesday at Thompson Park. Charlotte became the Girls’ Blue Division cross country champion for the second year in a row with a decisive victory. And just as important, she led the LA girls to a second place team finish in the race.
Al-Hammed had the game winning goal versus Middlesex and overall has had a great season. He has become an inspirational teammate that continues to lead by example.
Zara continues to set a good example by putting in the hustle and playing up to the coach’s standards.
Annie is currently in the eighth position on the girls’ tennis ladder, which is a crucial slot because that position occasionally is called upon to fill in at singles. Annie's on court abilities have really helped the team stay competitive this season.
