Upper School Athletes of the Week - Oct. 11

Rudy Brandl

Mike Romeo, Athletic Director, announced the Upper School Athletes of the Week at Monday’s divisional meeting. Congratulations to tennis player Amelie Leu ’25 and cross country runner Mohisha Jha ’26.

Amelie came up big in Friday’s state playoff match against Notre Dame HS. The overall team score was tied was at 2-2 and the Rams needed a win at third singles to advance. After dropping the first set in a tiebreaker, Amelie fought back to win the second and third sets. It was a win that secured the girls’ tennis team a spot in the state sectional tournament quarterfinals.

Mohisha is another one of the Middle School harriers who has moved up to the high school level. She is a dedicated runner, never shirking from a task or a drill, and has been improving all season long. Last week she ran two races in the space of three days. This is unusual for a cross country runner and even tougher when conditions are rainy and cold. In the second meet on our home course, Mohisha lowered her 5K personal best by 1:47.
