Mike Romeo, Athletic Director, announced the first Upper School Athletes of the Week for the winter season at the Monday meeting this week. Congratulations to cheerleader Kayla Le ’25 and basketball player Italia Penevolpe ’25.
Kayla is returning this season again as a captain of the game team. Her quiet confidence makes her approachable to teammates and her work ethic is one of the best on the team. Kayla is someone all of her coaches and teammates can depend on to help remember motions or to demonstrate proper technique.
Italia led the girls’ basketball team to a season opening victory over Woodbridge Academy. Her 25 points ranked as the fourth highest total in the state on opening night. She was in the zone from the start and led the Rams to a 44-37 win.
