Seniors Share Thoughtful Insights in Speeches

Rudy Brandl

Three seniors delivered speeches earlier this week in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Congratulations to Ish Singh ’24 (pictured), Hans Huang ’24 and Samina Aziz ’24 for sharing thoughtful and enlightening speeches.

Ish reflected on the difficult transition leaving India after the many memories he made there and how he was worried about returning to the US. It has turned out to be a blessing thanks to the friends and freedom he has found at LA and he encouraged his peers to cherish their memories.

Hans spoke about dealing with the stress of facing choices without any idea of their outcomes. His fear of the future was alleviated by a discussion with his favorite teacher in China, who convinced Hans to trust himself and focus on what’s to be gained from choices and decisions.

Samina shared a heartwarming story of how old TV shows have provided comfort during her life. She relishes the memories of watching Scooby Doo on Saturdays with her father during childhood and currently enjoys old episodes of I Love Lucy and Golden Girls with her mom as days of living at home before college continue to dwindle.
