Four seniors delivered speeches within the past week in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Congratulations to Ahmad Maiga ’24 (pictured), Tony Guo ’24, Moneet Kaur ’24 and Joanne Ding ’24 for sharing their stories and experiences.
Ahmad discussed his struggles with procrastination by providing many humorous examples of how this “unwelcome guest” has plagued him throughout the years. He has learned many lessons from these experiences and is ready to embrace new challenges.
Tony reflected on the swift passage of time and how his experiences as a LA student have been more engaging than when he used to fall asleep in classrooms in China. He credited his new school with changing his attitude toward studying and life and thanked his parents and teachers for their support.
Moneet shared a story about how an unwanted Christmas gift in 2014 became a treasured possession in the past decade. After wondering why she received a pink leather journal as a child, she eventually appreciated the value of recording many little experiences that otherwise may have been lost.
Joanne spoke about how her seven years as an international student at LA have shaped her into the person she is today. She’s thoroughly enjoyed the academic environment and extracurricular activities offered by the school and thanked her parents, teachers and friends for providing this wonderful experience.
