Seniors Share Inspirational Messages in Speeches

Rudy Brandl

Six seniors delivered their speeches in the Berry Performing Arts Center within the past week. Congratulations to Sreeprada Arumilli ’23, Cherice Clarke ’23, Gurshan Sidhu ’23, Loveleen Sindhar ’23 (pictured), Anna Lee ’23 and Matt Piccoli ’23 for sharing their stories.

Sreeprada spoke about the joy she’s experienced in finding a new hobby – cooking. What started as bonding over baking with her sister has turned into creating meals that have brought her closer to her family.

Cherice discussed her transition back to the ways of a free-spirited child who loved trying new things. She encouraged her peers to step out of their comfort zone and open more doors by trying new things.

Gurshan told the story of an egg allergy that was often very inconvenient at birthday parties growing up because he was not allowed to eat cake. As he’s matured, Gurshan has learned to embrace the allergy and put a positive spin on it.

Loveleen shared how the many new things she has tried in the past two years have contributed to her transformation to a more outgoing person. She encouraged her peers not to be afraid and closed by saying, “don’t limit yourself.”

Anna reflected on her personal growth since freshman year and provided advice she hopes will be useful to her peers. Among her tips were not to procrastinate, don’t be afraid to try new things and don’t stress too much.

Matt recounted his family’s military history and how it has impressed and motivated him during his life. Serving his country has become a goal and a dream and Matt aspires to begin his career at the Naval Academy.
