The Lower School wrapped up a three-day schoolwide celebration of World Language and Culture Day with two events on Friday, Jan. 20. Lower School Spanish teacher Maria Hinestroza hosted the performances and guided the students.
Students in Pre-K, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten gathered for an intimate Early Childhood assembly in Lower Snowdon. Each class made its own presentation in Spanish before all three classes combined for a rousing finale. Later in the morning, students in Grades 1-5 gathered for a special assembly in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Each performance was introduced by the grade level teachers and delivered its own positive message in an entertaining way.
Below are the poems and songs performed at the two assemblies:
Pre-K: Así soy yo (This is me)
JK: Mi amigo el muñeco de nieve (My friend, the snowman)
K: Me gusta como soy (I like who I am)
All EC classes: Amo la nieve (I love snow)
1: Juntos (Together)
2: Mi nombre (My name)
3: Como Frida (Like Frida)
4: Celebro (I celebrate)
5: ¿Quién eres? (Who are you?)
