The Upper School’s Hispanic Latinx Alliance shared an interactive presentation with Lower School students during an assembly on September 30 in the Berry Performing Arts Center.
HLA affinity group leaders Briana Di Landro ’23, Nick Vargas ’23 and Sarah Alves ’24, along with members Luca DiGirolamo ’25 and Giselle Rodriguez ’25, provided facts about Hispanic Heritage Month by guiding the students through a series of slides. They discussed the meaning of Hispanic Heritage Month and why it’s important. They also explained the difference between Hispanic and Latinx and explored why its people have many different physical characteristics.
The interactive portion included a Q&A during which students replied to questions about the family tree in English and Spanish. The Lower School students also sang a few songs while watching videos from Encanto and received a coloring book page to take home from the Disney smash hit.
