First graders presented their own written work and illustrations at class publishing parties on Feb. 9 in the classrooms of Mrs. Jennifer Molloy and Mrs. Bethany Howell. The students wrote their own personal narratives and went through the entire writing process, beginning with a rough draft and various stages of editing. They added colorful illustrations and the books were bound into hard covers.
The students were proud to share their stories and pictures with parents, teachers and friends. Some of this year's titles included The Day I Lost my Tooth, The Day my Brother was Born, My Trip to Paris, and My Cheerleading Competition. The children also created video book reviews of each other's books, which they shared with their families and classmates.
