Four outstanding individuals were honored at the Alumni Awards Ceremony at the conclusion of Fall Fair and Homecoming Day in the AP Room. Congratulations to the 2022 Alumni Award winners: Missy VanBuren-Brown '72 (Distinguished Alumna), Carole Horne Boyd ’69 (Athletic Hall of Fame), Roxane Brown-Campello ’79 (Athletic Hall of Fame) and Matt Albano ’81 (Athletic Hall of Fame). The honorees, their family and friends, alumni and other members of the LA community enjoyed a reception afterward.

Current trustee Missy VanBuren-Brown ’72 received the Distinguished Alumna Award. Missy has been an active Hartridge School alumna for a half-century. She remains connected to her classmates and has organized the 50th reunion celebration for her class this weekend. Long a generous supporter of the school, Missy truly values the nurturing environment for college preparation that Hartridge provided. She recently retired after a successful career in banking and financial services. Former Board Chair and Emeritus Trustee Joe Bonk introduced Missy and presented the award.

Carole Horne Boyd ’69, daughter of longtime Wardlaw headmaster Prentice Horne, was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Carole won the Outstanding Athlete and Science Awards in her senior year. She was captain or co-captain of the varsity field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse teams in her junior and senior years. LA Hall of Famer Beverly Baier Keur ’73 introduced Carole and presented her award.

Roxane Brown-Campello ’79 also was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Roxane was a phenomenal four-sport standout in her high school years, competing in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse for four years and gymnastics for two years. She received the Wigton Cup as the outstanding female athlete at graduation and was named Middlesex County Scholar-Athlete in her senior year. Classmate Mitch Reider ’79 introduced Roxane and presented her award.

Matt Albano ’81, this year’s third Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, won a State Prep championship in wrestling and was also a key member of the soccer and track and field teams. Matt received the Student Council Award for the best all-around boy and the Chambliss Trophy as the outstanding male athlete in his senior year. Classmate Rob Berg ’81 introduced Matt and presented his award.
